What's new in TestArchitect for Windows
The following new features and improvements are introduced in the latest version of TestArchitect running on Windows.
Remember:
- Before upgrading to the latest version of TestArchitect, it is strongly recommended that you check in all test artifacts, back up all repositories, and uninstall the current build if any.

- Mobile Action Recorder: Introducing the powerful new Mobile Action Recorder feature in TestArchitect which makes mobile testing not just possible but incredibly efficient and cost-effective. Designed to enhance your test automation process, the Mobile Action Recorder captures user interactions on your mobile applications and automatically generates corresponding actions and controls. Experience the ease of codeless automation with the Mobile Recorder. It’s intuitive interface allows even non-technical testers to create automation tests effortlessly.
***The first version of Mobile Action Recorder supports recording user interaction on iOS and Android Native application.

TestArchitect Automation
- Built-in Actions (ABT): “type” built-in action now can playback user’s type behavior with {enter} and {backspace} keys on Mobile Native application.
- Automatic WebDriver version download for current browser in GWD mode (Windows 64-bit): Prevents web automation failures related to WebDriver mismatches.
- .NET 6 automation platform: Beside the stability of .NET Framework automation support, the market recently wants to pick up a popular .NET 6 version for migrating their AUTs. Understand the market need, TestArchitect is now ready for .NET 6 automation platform with all standard controls.

- Keep up MS Excel version to 2021 64bit On-premise edition for data-driven testing: Support data-driven testing for market’s demand on upgrading MS Excel to newer version to eliminate limitation of some legacy MS Excel versions.
- Well-tested for previous-latest and latest versions of the Web browser (counted until Jun 30, 2024): Ensures compatibility with the most recent browser versions for web automation.
- Google Chrome: v125 and v126
- MS EdgeChromium: v125 and v126
- Mozilla Firefox: v126 and v127
- Out-of-the-Box Java Harness Action: Check baselined image objects in a path using KeyPoint algorithm.
- Exposed necessary APIs for using Keypoint algorithm in the Java Harness
- Sample Available: “Check image object exist” in Java Harness sample.
Bug Fixes and Enhancements
- OpenJDK 21 migration: Gain from the OpenJDK community’s rapid patching of Java vulnerabilities while Oracle start charging Java developers for new JDKs.
- Improved comfort and reliability for users working remotely: Now TestArchitect users will feel more comfortable when working remotely through VPN connection.
- Fixed the Dashboard/Lab Manager launching issues that occurred on some specific machines.
- Supported for double-byte characters in image file paths.
- Fixed the issue that sometimes the subscription information disappears on the License server GUI.
- Enhanced the License Management System service to solve the communication problem between license server and License Management System that sometime occurs.
- Fixed the loading failures when using Interface Viewer with ‘List’ control type in hierarchical view.
- Fixed the sporadic issue with repeated use of Web Recorder.
- Fixed the integer overflow displaying on the HTML test result.

[InterfaceViewer] Viewer is NOT expand tree node when user inspect desktop web controls. | The issue happens due to 3rd party library changed when upgrading to recent Chrome Web browser. This not block user from identify controls. Solution: User expands the Interface Viewer UI explorer tree before identifying the controls. |
[AndroidAutomation] TA can NOT detect a specific control. | Rarely occur. This issue happens with a specific control that the Interface Viewer suggests ID for identifying unique property however, the Appium API find elements always return NO ELEMENT. Solution: User can try Xpath or another property to capture control if the suggested ID does not work. |
